Yoga at Columbus Commons

You always see fitness groups in the parks around town, but do you ever join?

Saturday morning at 9am one of my good friends Heather and I decided to join in! We went to the Columbus Commons for Vinyasa Flow Yoga. We had both done yoga before, however, not quite like this. It was a fast paced and energizing workout! We loved it! There was a surprising number of people participating considering that the morning was chilly. Although,  by the end of the hour, we were all sweating. The instructor was great. Kandi Shamblin was up on stage cheering us on, and providing us with instructions for alternate poses. Other yoga instructors from around town were also going through the audience to give tips and were doing the poses with us, so if you are one like me who needs to see a close example, have no fear they already have that covered!

If yoga isn’t your cup of tea, here is a photo from Columbus Commons Facebook page, which shows all the free exercise classes that are  available throughout the week. They have bootcamp, crossfit, yoga, and zumba. Columbus Commons Exercise

Heather and I will be going this coming Saturday! We hope more join us in the free fun!

Here are my tips:

1. Bring a friend!

2. Bring a beach towel to put under your yoga mat.

3. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

4. Arrive 15 minutes early to stake out your perfect yoga spot.

5. Make sure you sign the Fitness class release on the Columbus Commons website.
